Who We Help: Fishermen
The Pinoy Relief team have been on the grounds in heavily affected areas where Typhoon Haiyan hit. They have chosen to focus their work in the municipality of Guiuan, where Typhoon Haiyan made its first landfall. The aftermath is devastating and this particular area is receiving little aid.
A majority of residents in Guiuan rely on fishing as their livelihood. Nearly two-thirds of fishing boats were damaged. In partnership with Operation Blessing and local NGOs in the Philippines, Pinoy Relief was able to rebuild boats for fishermen. Watch the video here:
